Elelments of a Lab Report:

  • Title: Keep the title informative but make sure the reader will be interested to keep reading. Meaning, don’t just put “Quarantine”, say it like this: “The Effects Quarantine had on College Students in New York.”
  •  Abstract: summarization of the entire lab report and its structure. Take a linne or two from each section of the structure and put it in a paragragh.
  •  Introduction: literraly in the word. Introuduce the topic in a few sentences, focusinng on what the topic is about, but not too much so this way the reader will want to read the entire report.
  • Materials and Methods:  Write out your processes in a way that your reader can replicate your work. Mention a list of materials that you used for your lab report.
  • Results: Also in the word. Let the reader know what the results were from your report. Either with data or showing if your hypothesis was right or not. Keep it informative.
  • Discussion: Discuss the details of your results. List the questions you had and answer them.
  • Conclusion:  Summarize the main points from your lab rebort into onne or two paragraghs. Review the purpose of your research or experiment and hypothesis/hypotheses that you tested.
  • References: this is usually where you would create a works cited page or a bibliography to cite the information of your lab report. Could be from a website, book, newspaper, etc. Just make sure to cite it!
